As there are various people who believe the system used is complicated, I'm putting here a table for easy reference. This should help in giving everyone a physical reference to use, rather than having to look back over all of the writing that's here. Each race gets its own Daily Bonus (DB) point increase after so many levels, due to a new ability, power, or whatever, and Daily points are the amount of points you get for posting at least once a week. Getting to the level needed raises the base value, so you don't have to start over at 20 points (what you start out with when creating a Level 1 character) if you miss a week. Each week you consistently post, you get an increase of five points to your Daily Bonus that week, and then added on for the next week, if posted again. Miss one week, and it resets.
In the table is also the information about the increases for various Shikai, Bankai, Hollow Masks, and Resurreccion. Imagine the overall points put into these and separate from each other. Shikai points for Shikai, Bankai points for Bankai, and so forth. When these abilities are activated, multiply the number in the category of the ability as listed in the table, and distribute the numbers as you see fit, but only to that of your basic stats. Techniques and abilities must rely on their own points. Remember, these are powerful increases, so choose wisely what's increased.
To clarify about the Weekly Bonuses: they are the points you get for the writing you've done. You post a lot of quality writing, you will get a lot of points. Daily bonus you get anyway. In Arcs, people will get a lot more points than they would from Weekly Bonus points, allowing people to level up faster. By leveling up, they become stronger, and will eventually become more central to the story in some way or another.
