Kido - The Art of Reiryoku

One of the four basic forms of combat for Shinigami, Kido is how Shinigami focus their reiryoku into spells of power for various purposes, separated into three categories: Bakudo (Way of Binding), Hado (Way of Destruction), and Others, spells that don't fit into either defense or offense, such as healing spells (which are not listed by name under here, because so little is known about them; if your character does know healing spells, simply state as much, and be aware of how healing is done in the manga and anime). Some spells don't fit well into both. Kido spells are numbered 1 to 99, 1 being the weakest and 99 being the strongest, but as this is only a listing of how powerful they are, there could be multiple spells for the same number. Spells increasing in categories of 10, 1 through 10, 11 through 20, etc., are two times stronger than the previous. On Hitokawa, the power scale discussed is used for spells, and as such, the most powerful spells are the most difficult to effectively train. To use Kido spells at full strength, Shinigami must say an incantation, but the main weakness for this is the fact of time: it may take too long to recite it, and leaves you open for attack.

A way around this weakness is a technique called Eishohaki, or a chantless spell. The spell can be released without a chant, but it lowers the spells effectiveness by half. If one is skilled in Kido and has trained enough with that spell, one can preform a chantless spell with very little drawback to its power. Along with chantless spells, the incantation can be recited after the spell is released, powering up the spell to its full power, via a technique called Kojutsu Eisho. The spell's effectiveness also depends on the one casting it, for even a level 4 spell can be devastating in the hands of a Kido specialist. Truly powerful Kido specialists may mix the incantations of two or more Kido spells for a spell that completely overwhelms an enemy, at the same time leaving them confused as to what spell is being used. Even rarer still is to mix Kido spells of different categories, such as Bakudo and Hado together, for effects one may not see coming. A true Kido master knows to make new spells rather than stick with the old.

(For spells that do not have an official incantation, I've instead made ones up so that we can actually use them in the RP. If anyone feels like one of the incantations should be replaced by a better one, I'm happily open to suggestions)

Bakudo:

Sai: A binding spell that locks a target's arms behind their back, leaving them unable to move. This spell can be used on one target, or multiple targets.

Hainawa: An yellow energy rope is shot out of the Shinigami's hands and wraps around their target, restraining them and constricting their movements.

Seki: A round shield about the size of a small ball that when hit, it temporarily paralyzes and repels whatever strikes it.

Geki: This spell engulfs a target in red light and completely paralyzes the target.

Incantation: Disintegrate, you black dog of Rondanini! Look upon yourself with horror and then claw out your own throat!

Horin: Similar to Hainawa, but composed of an orange energy that leaps from the finger tips of the user's hand and wraps around the target, allowing the user to draw them in and move them about. A second Horin with the other hand can combine with the first when both have caught a target.

Shitotsu Sansen: By condensing reiryoku into your finger and forming a golden triangle, the tips shoot beams of light that slam into a target and pins them to the ground.

Kakushitsuijaku: This spell is used to locate and follow any spiritual force the user wants to find, if it is capable of finding it. By drawing a circle on the ground, separating it into four sections with characters for north, south, east, and west in them, the spell animates the circle to show various numbers to indicate longitude and latitude coordinates.

Incantation: Heart of the south, eye of the north, finger of the west, foot of the east, arrive with the wind and depart with the rain.

Rikujokoro: Summons six thin boards of light that slam into the midsection of the target, and completely paralyzes their entire body, making it so they are unable to move anything.

Tenteikura: By drawing symbols on the arms and pointing your palms, fingers turned inward, toward a white box formed from condensed reiryoku, this spell allows the caster to transmit messages mentally to any area or person of the caster's choosing, so long as they know their location, and most often used in combination with Bakudo #58: Kakushitsuijaku. Either the caster, or anyone nearby, can relay a message.

Kuyo Shibari: A high level spell that creates eight black holes around the target, both above and below in a circle formation, and then a ninth forms in the center of the target's chest. Functioning mostly as a Bakudo spell, restraining the target completely, it also exerts a tremendous force on them, which can quickly crush weaker enemies.

Kin Bankin: Kin Bankin are two spells or seals that can be used separately or together to stop an enemy. Kin, the first seal, or known as the Seal, wraps the arms of the target in a black, spiritual fabric, then around the back. Several iron shafts slam down on the fabric around, pulling the target to the ground. The same seal can be used to a lesser degree by just binding the arms of the target instead of bringing them to the ground. Bankin, the final seal, known as the Great Seal, covers the entire target from head to toe in white spiritual fabric, known as the First Song. The Second Song consists of stabbing numerous metal bolts into the entire body, and the Final Song is when a giant metal cube falls down on top of the target.

Kurohitsugi: This spell has two versions of the same one, one chantless and the other after speaking the full incantation. Using the spell chantless, the user gathers energy into one hand, and the target is surrounded by the outline of a black box with a purple outline, before the surfaces are covered over by blackness. The box is then pierce by several spear-like shafts from all sides, lacerating the target that's inside from head to toe. Chantless, this spell has the power to defeat an average level Shinigami Captain in one attack. When preformed with the incantation, it has enough power to distort space and time. The sky darkens as several black boxes appear around the area, each with cross spears atop all of them, and upon completing the incantation, they quickly enclose a target.

Senju Koten Taiho: This spell summons several spears of light that all fire upon the target, hitting the same focal point and resulting in an explosion powerful enough to destroy a large area.

Incantation: Limit of the thousands hands, respectful hands, unable to touch the darkness. Shooting hands unable to reflect the blue sky. The road that basks in light, the wind that ignited the embers, time that gathers when both are together, there is no need to be hesitant, obey my orders. Light bullets, eight bodies, nine items, book of heaven, diseased treasure, great wheel, gray fortress tower. Aim far away, scatter brightly and cleanly when fired.

Itto Kaso: A forbidden spell that can only be cast by using the body of the caster, or the body of another, as a catalyst, and while still alive. It causes a huge pillar of fire to erupt from the ground, forming the shape of a katana's tip. It can be used with a limb, or a whole body, the destruction varying on the amount of flesh used. As flesh is needed as a catalyst, using an entire body will result in a much bigger eruption than a limb, but will result in the killing of whoever is the catalyst.
