Human - Population of the Living World
Humans, the people of the Living World, and of the same species as the person at the computer. Emotional, flesh and bone, and capable of both mercy and evil, they are also the food of Hollows. It is a Shinigami's duty to protect them from these Hollows, to ensure that despite the battles waging war around them, they can go on with their lives peacefully. At least, until now. With the recent disappearances of many spiritual beings of extraordinary power, the spiritual awareness of the average person is increasing, for a reason no person can explain. For now, there is not much of a problem, for most people still cannot sense the presence of such creatures, much less know they exist. There are some, however, who have slowly, but surely, increasing reiryoku, and their abilities are starting to show themselves. These abilities are known as Fullbrings.
Under normal circumstances, humans with Fullbrings are born with them, unable to be accessed until later in life, passed down from their mothers, who were attacked by a Hollow in the past, and survived. Because of this, their abilities resemble more of a Hollow's power than that of a Shinigami's, but this would be so under normal circumstances. With the recent events and a sudden increase in the spiritual energy in the Living World, more and more people are naturally acquiring Fullbring powers, becoming Fullbringers, and their very nature is changing. Before, Fullbrings did not grow as the powers of a Zanpakutou or a Hollow's power would; instead, there would be different stages of their released power until they could master their Fullbring. Today, their Fullbring is naturally evolving, and their abilities are now evenly divided between being similar to a Shinigami's power, or that of a Hollow's.
Fullbringers manipulate what's known as the "soul" of matter via Soul Manipulation, Bringer Light, or Fullbringing. For example: Pulling on the soul of a liquid can help the person drink it, similar in a sense to telekinesis. The user can also cause the water to solidify enough that they can walk on water. Pulling on the soul of asphalt can make it more elastic, or to cushion a fall. It can also be used to help with movement, propelling one to faster speeds than conventional running. Each use causes an echo of green light called Bringer Light. It's also the core component to high-speed movement, allowing a Fullbringer to pull on the soul of their environment and increase their movement, to the point they're capable of rivaling Hoho or Sonido. Manipulating the environment in this way, causing Bringer Lights to appear, is a sign of mastering Fullbringing.
The power of a Fullbringer is not just in their manipulation of their environment, but that of an object they carry with them. They must possess an affinity to it, a general fondness for it, but once one is established, they can change the object's form and soul to release their true Fullbring abilities. Whether it be transforming a necklace into a sword, a doll into a creature, or any other manner of abilities, the Fullbring comes from both the person, and the soul of their object. When a Fullbring reaches it's full potential, it will often emit an explosive amount of energy that can damage the person and everything around them. Because of this, another Fullbringer is usually needed to help stabilize the energy, so it won't go out of control.
Today, with the increase of the Living World's spiritual energy, a Fullbring is capable of evolving now. Whether they can evolve to be powerful enough to rival a Captain or Espada remains unclear, but given enough time, anything could happen. Based on current information, a Fullbring is capable of going through three stages before maximizing their power. What's even more interesting is that Fullbringers are capable of trading and sharing their power with other Fullbringers. Not only does it increase their power immediately, it also increases their capacity for it. The major downside to it, however, is that if a Fullbringer dies, all trace of their shared power disappears, causing power gained from it to disappear. Whether all Fullbringers, or any, know of this ability is unknown at this time.
